Autumn Leaves

I love Fall.  It is my favorite season.  Maybe because I am a September baby, I don’t know.  There is just a beauty and peace that comes as the leaves change and the air gets crisp.  I love the sound of leaves crunching under my feet.  Being able to open the windows on my car and house and let the fresh air in.  Fall is tricky here in Atlanta because the temp doesn’t start to drop until November.  So right now it doesn’t quite feel like Fall yet but it’s coming.

Sweaters and boots.  Hot apple cider.  Hearty stews and chili.  Candles that smell of fruit and spice.  Pumpkins.  Mums.  I can’t wait.

Somebody is ready for Halloween

This is my son in last year’s costume (looking like me when I need a relaxer).  This year he wants to be Jason…(sigh) 10 year olds.

Lazy Sundays

Sundays have always been a rest day for me.  Most Sundays I don’t even leave my house.  Most Sundays I don’t even get out of my lounging clothes.  When I was growing up, my mom washed clothes for the week and cooked big Sunday dinners.  This is probably what my grandmother did also and it passed down to me.  Eventhough I wash clothes through the week, Sunday is my big wash day and I like to cook a hearty meal on Sunday.  Pot roast with lots of potatoes and carrots, mac and cheese, sweet potatoes.  Since I absolutely hate Mondays, my Sundays are very important to rest/relax and get ready physically and mentally for the upcoming week.

Smile a while for me Sarah

Everyone I know is running home to see this debate like it’s the Super Bowl.  I wonder if she is gonna stink like this fish she’s holding.  If it is anything like her Katie Couric interview, God help us.  Tonight there will be no teleprompter, no script.  Sarah’s gotta freestyle!  Hopefully Ole Joe will hold it together and let her make herself look bad and judging by her previous interviews, that ain’t hard to do.  One hour, four minutes and counting….gotta go get my popcorn and soda.
